The
About this website
The scenery suppied here free of charge is presented without waranty
and at the users risk. Each scenery set has been installed
and tested on X-Plane 10.51 or above and X-Plane 11.26 and 11.30.
Some
additional scenery
library files may be needed to show all of the scenery.
The
scenery files are
designed by Paul Pursglove who is a retired biologist and geologist.
His experience as a glider pilot gave him an interest in
aviation and he has used many versions of flight simulators over the
years. Airport design is a more recent interest and at present, X-Plane
is considered to be, by far, the best available flight simulator
for
non-commercial use on desktop computer systems. In its full form it is
a very good commercial training system.
The scenery contained
herein is designed to fit onto the X-Plane default scenery. The
intention of this website is to provide a free basic set of specific
small airport sceneries that will sit easily on mid-range computer
systems. Where possible, all elements are normally set to ground level.
This will allow the scenery to sit on different versions of
X-Plane reasonably well. However, there are some instances of
changed ground levels and slopes between different versions of X-Plane
as the groundmesh has been improved or changed over time. Newer
sceneries are now designed within X-Plane 11.30
Many of the airport sceneries come with the earth.wed.xml
file included, so that the scenery can be adjusted in WED to fit with
Orthographic Scenery or changes in landform. If you download an
airport, you may change the nature of the airport to suit your own
needs on your own computer system, but you must not trade or distribute
the airports or any parts of them to others. These airport sceneries
are produced free to use and anyone who wants to use them must download
the airport from the website themselves. Where airports have no
significant downloads over time, they may be removed from the site.
Free
to use library files are used to populate airports with additional
objects to those designed here. Users will need to install the
freeware listed scenery library files from the Installing scenery link
on the home page to benefit from the full scenery models.
